Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using GhostDrop (“the Service”), operated by GhostDrop (“we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the service. These terms apply to all users, whether free or paid.

Service Description

GhostDrop is an ephemeral encrypted file sharing service. Files are encrypted in your browser using AES-256-GCM encryption before being uploaded to our servers. Share links contain the encryption key in the URL fragment, allowing only link holders to decrypt the content. Drops are automatically deleted after expiry or when view limits are reached. GhostDrop is not intended as a permanent storage solution — all content is ephemeral by design.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use GhostDrop to:

  • Upload, share, or distribute illegal content in your jurisdiction
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful software
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other individuals
  • Infringe on copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures or access other users' data
  • Use the service for spam or unsolicited bulk communications
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure

While our zero-knowledge architecture means we cannot inspect your content, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are being used in violation of these terms, based on metadata patterns and reports.

Account Tiers

GhostDrop offers multiple tiers (Free, Starter, Creator, Pro) with varying limits on file size, active drops, total storage, view counts, and expiry durations. Current tier details and pricing are available on our pricing page. We reserve the right to modify tier limits and pricing with reasonable notice. Existing paid subscriptions will not be affected by price increases during their current billing period.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use GhostDrop. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use the service. By using GhostDrop and making purchases, you represent that you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts.

Payments and Billing

Paid plans are billed on a recurring monthly basis through Razorpay. You may cancel your subscription at any time from the billing page. Upon cancellation, your paid features remain active until the end of the current billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free tier. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods unless required by applicable law.

Billing disputes: If you believe you have been incorrectly charged, double-charged, or encounter any billing error, please contact us within 7 days of the charge using the in-app support widget, our contact page, or email. We will investigate and, where appropriate, issue a correction or refund. We aim to resolve all billing disputes within 5 business days.

Payment processing is handled entirely by Razorpay. We do not store your payment card details on our servers. For questions about payment processing, you may also contact Razorpay directly.

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, third-party outages (including payment processors), or circumstances beyond our control. Temporary service disruptions do not entitle users to refunds or credits. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned maintenance.

Support and Issue Reporting

If you experience any issues with GhostDrop — including problems with uploads, downloads, billing, account access, or any unexpected errors — please report them immediately using the in-app support widget (available when signed in), our contact page, or email us at support@ghostdrop.to.

We are committed to resolving issues promptly:

  • We acknowledge all support requests within 24 hours
  • Billing and payment issues are treated with the highest priority
  • Critical bugs affecting paid features are prioritized for immediate resolution
  • We will keep you informed of progress until the issue is fully resolved

Your satisfaction matters to us. If a paid feature is unavailable due to a confirmed bug on our end, we will work to resolve it as quickly as possible and offer appropriate remedies on a case-by-case basis.

Intellectual Property

You retain all ownership rights to content you upload to GhostDrop. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content. Due to our zero-knowledge architecture, we cannot access, view, or use your content in any way. The GhostDrop name, logo, and service are the property of GhostDrop and may not be used without permission.

Limitation of Liability

GhostDrop is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. In no event shall GhostDrop be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or business opportunities. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, all your active drops will be revoked and all encrypted data permanently purged from our servers. We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you are violating these terms. In the event of termination, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you, except where prohibited by law or where immediate action is required to protect the service.

Dispute Resolution

We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any disputes informally using the in-app support widget, our contact page, or email. Most concerns can be resolved quickly through direct communication.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, you agree that it shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law. Each party shall bear their own costs. Class action lawsuits, class-wide arbitration, and representative actions are not permitted under this agreement.

Governing law: These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms that are not resolved through arbitration shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, India.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GhostDrop, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the service or via email. Continued use of GhostDrop after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
